This little radio works well with FM and weather radio. The light works well with sufficient brightness and 2 settings. One 18650 battery and one AAA battery case and USB power cable (you provide your own power supply) power the radio with auto-switching when the 18650 runs low. Shortwave actually worked on some stations with just a very short whip antenna. I put my own clip on the SW antenna and reception has improved a lot so I was surprised that the radio worked so well on the SW band. The sound is just about okay for a small speaker, but that's to be expected given the size and price. The radio I received was very poor with AM or medium wave reception. Even going outside and turning the radio in different directions didn't improve, even with local stations (less than 20 miles away). If it weren't for the problem with AM reception I would leave the radio, but I'm returning it for that reason.
