Why can't Shimano just install an Allen key?
It's a bit annoying that Shimano cranks require a proprietary tool when they could put an allen wrench on the crank cap. On the other hand, at least they made it out of plastic and only charged $6 - I think they could make it out of unobtanium and charge $25.
