It just didn't work for me. Installed 1 AA battery. VHS-C compartment open. The internal parts of the adapter moved before and after the VHS-C cassette was inserted. The problem is that it just won't play on my VCR. He walks in, makes a few noises like he's trying to start playing, then the VCR spits him out. I tried several VHS-C cassettes and they all had the same problem. These tapes are in good condition. My video recorder plays other VHS cassettes without any problems. In fact, I watched a few tapes just before trying this adapter when converting home video to digital. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything with my VHS-C cassettes because it didn't work. I have requested a refund and need to try another brand. Maybe I'm just unlucky and another adapter from this manufacturer might work just fine. I think I'll try something different next time.
