From the start, the thing has extremely poor usability compared to competing devices. EVERY TIME you press the "GO" button, the calibration should take 5 seconds. As this is a flawed design and not a necessity, a few stars should be deducted right away. But it gets worse. Mine has a loose connection somewhere inside (if it were a great design otherwise I'd investigate for bad solder joints etc) so it's failing every few seconds. Combine that with a 5 second calibration and mine is literally useless. I can't measure walls where I really need to find studs as performance is lost once the calibration is complete. Also, purple is ugly. This one isn't worth replacing; It's coming back and I'll buy another brand.
