There is some overlap between different sets. Remember. The best starter set is the 12 color set. When purchased with Carrie Mackenzie's The Art of the Brush book, you'll be amazed at what the 12 color set can do. This set has a lot of earth tones making it a great addition to the 12 color set where you get cool and warm tones in all the primary colours, some secondary colours, plus browns and blacks. The price of this set on Revain is quite high, I could have found it cheaper elsewhere so I'm deducting 1 star. You pay a comfort surcharge after 2 days. (I ordered a larger set and even though it was sold out, my account kept saying it was on its way. So that's another issue, after paying the extra price and not even receiving it after two days, I got that order cancelled! ) Remember there are no holes on the top of the cap so you will need to prick the cap with an awl to shake out the paint or use a small fan brush if you don't want to prick through the cap. Just watch out for cross-contamination when you dip the brush from one color to another.
