My experience with the Fibaro FGMS-001 was exceptional and during my tests, which included 5 other motion sensors/multisensors, Fibaro stood at the top as the clear winner. In terms of setup and the overall simplicity of connecting Fibaro to my Z-Wave network, the instructions in the manual proved extremely accurate and helpful. There were no problems connecting and it showed up in my home automation panel (home assistant) with no problems. As a prelude I bought 5 of these little guys and for those who are wondering they are the size of a golf ball maybe a little smaller. The included CR123A battery seems to have given me good battery life, in my case with the default settings the one I bought over a year ago still works with no issues. For those with battery issues, I would suggest ignoring the battery percentages reported by your Z-Wave hub and only bothering about replacing the battery if you are actually having issues with a device that isn't sending motion events. As a last resort, I've also set the settings to detect and send a Z-wave motion detection signal every 2 seconds. This way I can show more accurately in my software whether I was actually in the room or not and track movement throughout my apartment. So far, the devices have lasted 45 days on battery power and show no signs of failure. The only thing I would like is for these sensors to detect moisture, but if that means they have to be small and have decent battery life, then I'm really enjoying them. are.
