This is the successful result of a long search for an economical frother with all the desired features. Advantages: Smart foamer design with stainless steel jug takes up very little space on the dryer cabinet and looks great when not in use. The wide mouth of the jug makes it very easy to clean, but in practice I usually just have to rinse and rinse. This frother allows you to froth one or more drinks at the same time, meaning it offers more capacity than most. The milk is heated so that it is hot enough in the drink but does not scorch or burn to the bottom of the container. I insisted on an all stainless container due to the health concerns associated with heat in plastic. This pitcher has a nice solid feel. It lathers beautifully and has a nice solid sound when it's done. If you want less foam or less heat, you can simply remove the jug from the base before it "rings" and the base automatically shuts off. Disadvantages: none. The base is actually a HEATING. When you first remove the jug from the heater right after frothing and heating, the bottom of the jug will be quite hot. So if you pick up a pitcher immediately after it clangs, treat the bottom of the pitcher with the same respect you would treat the bottom of a saucepan just removed from a hot stove. I've made it a point to keep the pitcher LIVE in the base every time I don't dump and rinse it.
