Hard to get cable through firewall

This product is very well made and the choice of materials is above average. My only concern was getting the fuse holder through my car's firewall without cutting it, running it through the firewall, and then reattaching it. Luckily I found a hole in the firewall big enough for a fuse holder to fit through. . . However, to accomplish this task, I had to cut off the top of the fuse holder. It's easy to put back on when you're done. To do this, I used one of the included velcro straps to wind up the wire. This purpose of this product is to enable the use of a 12 volt 200 watt interior heater so I can defrost the windshield of my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has had its heater core failed and the driver's side carpet is soaked with antifreeze. I solved this problem by unplugging the heater core, but it essentially left me with no way to defrost my Jeep's windshield. I preferred the overkill with this product app to the Jeep's internal cigarette lighter. This fuse is rated in the 10-15 amp range, while the built in fuse on the product I bought has a 40 amp fuse. Yesterday I tested a portable heater/defroster for 30 minutes with the engine running continuously and these 12 AWG wires that connect directly to the battery terminals felt cool after the test. The smaller wire (16 or 18 AWG) from the heater to the cigarette lighter plug got warm but didn't feel hot. I plan to change the wiring to the heater to 12 AWG wire in the future, just for peace of mind. Overall, this product did exactly what I hoped it would. If you have to do it like me, buy this because of the thicker wire. You will not be disappointed.
