Excellent cable with socket

I have a couple of these, one for my fridge and one for my 12 volt shower. I don't know which is which so I'm listing the same, both work great and have the same bushing on the end covered in rubber. with a cap to protect against water, both have their own fuses, the main difference is the length of the cable.

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Heavy but locking blades won't align

The overall quality of this item appears to be good but the fuse sheets do not match. It took pliers to remove the 30 amp fuse. I had to use a 15 amp and the blades were out of service making it almost impossible to put a new one back in. I had to poke around with a screwdriver to get them to work.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Only available in black.

Portable Solar Panel Extension

Now we have a portable solar panel for camping and I would like to be able to park in the shade but position the panel for optimal daytime gain. This is a thick section and I agree with two separate wires as they are easy to clean after pulling them through the dusty camp. By installing my own plugs, I avoid the problems that others have reported by buying power strips with "attached" plugs that had faulty crimps.

Works perfectly. Installation could be easier!

Wiring harness works fine after installation. A problemโ€ฆ. a large cigarette lighter socket on one end and a built in fuse holder on the other end with 9 inch cable in between. I had to cut the fuse assembly off to fit through a small hole in the firewall and go straight to the battery. It only took 7 feet of wire, so I cut it to length, reattached the fuse holder, and connected the battery. FYI - if the fuse holder was on the cigarette lighter end. it would be a lot easier!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Useless functions

Doesn't look like copper

Three stars for several reasons. First, it cost $16 and I expected the product to be at least decent quality. Secondly. The only way to wire through a truck firewall is to cut the fuse end of the wire and reattach it after you've routed the wire. Third, and probably most importantly, it's advertised as 12 AWG copper wire. Maybe I don't know, but when I made the connection I noticed that the wire was silver instead of copper. If it's copper then I've never seen it in that color and couldn'tโ€ฆ

Hard to get cable through firewall

This product is very well made and the choice of materials is above average. My only concern was getting the fuse holder through my car's firewall without cutting it, running it through the firewall, and then reattaching it. Luckily I found a hole in the firewall big enough for a fuse holder to fit through. . . However, to accomplish this task, I had to cut off the top of the fuse holder. It's easy to put back on when you're done. To do this, I used one of the included velcro straps to wind upโ€ฆ
