I currently use a hard drive between MacOS and Windows 10 devices. On macOS, I recommend reformatting them to exFAT by choosing Launchpad > Other > Disk Utility. Under "External" select "Phison PU31 Media" and hover over "DELETE". Choose the "exFAT” format and proceed with deleting. You can now use it on both Mac and Windows if you originally used a macOS device. On Windows, this shows up as NFTS, but I also recommend reformatting to exFAT. On my HP Omen 15 AMD Ryzen 4800H, I get mid-range 300 and 390 MB/s read and write speeds, respectively. On my M1 MacBook Air I get a high 500 and an average of 600 MB/s for read and write speeds respectively. Overall, this highly portable external hard drive does a great job of quickly transferring files between both operating systems and is definitely worth the investment, especially for those on the go.
