If you want them to be used in an understandable way, they're great. There are different opinions about their coloring, so I tried it myself. I wanted to make teal and purple so I added about half a bottle of blue food coloring and then green, the water was a very dark version of the color I wanted. Then I made a purple water mix and it was very, very dark. The next day I looked at the results and the turquoise had a slight blue cast, barely noticeable. The purple ones came out like I bought them that color but it didn't last long. I mixed the "turquoise" and the purple together in an empty bowl and they were clear again the next day. Based on my experience I don't recommend you dye them, just buy the color you want and save yourself the hassle.
