I only gave this 2 stars (instead of 1) because it will get your pet to leave the area immediately BUT it will cause hearing damage to everyone in that range even at low settings. I would never put it on a high volume. My ears are ringing from the alarm clock and more than 5 minutes have passed. And one of the two devices won't turn off until I manually press the switch. One that eventually turns itself off, it seems like it will last forever. Seriously, a short, maybe 3 second beep at half volume will have any animal running for their lives. It's not something you could use at night unless you sleep in a separate building. They are louder than our smoke alarms and just as annoying. That's a great idea - love their sensitivity - but maybe a volume control and alarm duration choice?
