May be good for food, but not lacquer/turpentine.
Not suitable for oil paints containing turpentine or pure turpentine. Yes they are hermetic in the sense that no liquid has leaked out, but there is always a strong smell of turpentine, maybe the silicone isn't impermeable to VOC fumes? Strong smell still after a few days outdoors. I'm trying 4 ounce jars with a screw cap for kids now, everything seems fine, let's see if the lid degrades over time. I know a professional luthier who makes his own varnish and keeps it in little jars that I didn't get for some reason. I'm wondering if these sukkah containers also release food odors?
