Review on πŸ”₯ Design Engineering 050506 Floor & Tunnel Shield II - Heat & Sound Insulation (42"x24") - Non-Adhesive for Maximum Performance by Jermaine Shuster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Feels very strong and the adhesive is VERY strong!

I bought it to insulate a trans tunnel in Mustang. Here's what worked for me. I cleaned and dried the area completely with Dawn. I then measured a roughly rectangular area to cover up so I could cut out a piece of material that I could handle. I then cleaned the area again with acetone which dries instantly and leaves a great sticky surface. I would put the piece in place, use a screwdriver handle or something to slide it into the crevices and crevices, and then move on to the next piece and overlap it. (Work back to front so the pieces overlap so that air doesn't get under the edge and tear it off. I can't imagine that happening, but hey, precautions, right?) Continue until you have sheets get that slightly overlap in front. I went ahead and covered all the edges (between the pieces and where they ended) with aluminum tape, which I CAREFULLY pressed into the material until it was almost invisible. The finished product looks and feels durable.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
