Review on Metra 99 5716 Taurus Sable Harness by Paul Dahl

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I worked according to the instructions.

Summary: Works as you would expect from a head unit rebuild kit. Pros: - Easy to install - Works as intended - Includes all materials needed for a complete installation of the main unit. than the original material and appears "more fragile". Some old equipment needs to be reused. hardware and some nuts or something. Tips: You DO NOT NEED Ford Head Unit Removal Keys to remove the original unit. Save $10-$20 depending on where you want to buy them and use a wire hanger if you have one handy. Just cut it in two and bend it, use it as a key. Grab some wire nuts, butt connectors or whatever you prefer to complete the installation as they are not included. The instructions are fairly self-explanatory for most parts, but your new stereo may not fit this kit as advertised. I had to take and throw away the faceplate that came with the head unit as it didn't fit this kit. I only used the one that came with the kit, although it wasn't as smooth and less durable. Also, you may not need all of the screws provided as the holes in my stereo don't allow for all of them to be installed, although that wasn't a problem for me. You will work all the way from the beginning. back in the trunk with this kit. Make sure you have a ratchet and sockets, torx bits and a couple of screwdrivers handy, a flashlight definitely doesn't hurt. You can find your factory stereo tuner on the driver's side of the car behind a cloth in the trunk. I just routed the wires from it over the back of the car where it meets the seats, tucked it away, removed the front and rear driver's side panels to behind the bottom of the dash and through. The finish "just" pops out **very helpful to have a pry bar or similar tool handy*. Useful tools although not required (to make your life easier and work faster). Crowbar Flashlight Your choice of cold drink A second pair of helping hands to pack things for you haha.
