Pretty good belt. The spikes on the buckle that grip the skin are very sharp which penetrates the skin well for a good grip. As with other buckles (that I've tried and researched) of this type of ratchet system, the blunt end of the leather that goes into the end of the buckle could go a bit deeper, but this one was better than my last ratchet buckle. The quality of the two-layer laminated leather is not the highest; looks good but a bit stiff. Here you can improve the quality of the skin. Love the one piece leather harness but good luck on your search! The chrome buckle looks nice but I found it a bit heavy; Polished or chromed aluminum may work better. Otherwise I am satisfied with this belt. Tip: Cut the belt to your waist plus two inches as indicated. It turned out to be pretty good advice, but I added another two inches before cutting my hair and wore it for a few days. Tip #2: When trimming the belt to fit the buckle, use a large, very sharp, such as a chef's knife, chopping board and slowly and precisely cut across the skin at right angles. The instructions on the instruction card that came with the belt show how to make the cuts using large scissors. Bad advice! It's easier to get a clean, straight cut with a sharp knife! Also, it's best to only cut at the inch marks on the belt, not between them. Much luck. I think you will love this belt.
