First, I have a big head for a woman (adult baseball caps usually fit me very, very tight). But I did my due diligence and measured the widest part of my head before ordering and it was on the very end of the spectrum (largest) but still within the range stated in the description. Well the hat fits great and although it is stretchy I didn't have to stretch it to fit my head - it just fits perfectly. Now I can't say how it will behave in winter but it seems very well made: no big or small holes but thick fabric or crochet. For one of the cheaper knit hats available with Prime shipping, I would highly recommend this product! I would buy more if they offered a different color!
