I am very happy with this tool. I use it to cut lines used on my sailboat. It works great and the burnt ends of the fishing line don't crumble. First I wrap blue masking tape around the area to be cut out. When the blade heats up it only takes a few seconds and I gently move back and forth to cut the line right down the center of the 1 inch wide band. Then I remove the tape and both cut ends are perfect.
