Upgrading from a DLink 2695 AC Access Point is worth every penny. A few years ago I started using SMB and commercial Wi-Fi hotspots for home hotspot needs. I saw a 10MB increase in download speed compared to the previous system. I didn't purchase the second device to confirm mesh capability, but this one has a noticeable improvement in coverage and helps spread WiFi devices around the home. PS4, mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, home automation devices, etc.
