The first factor in buying this bag was that it had a waterproof zipper instead of being rolled up and zippered at the ends like most bags. in and out and quickly close again. I bought this bag specifically for when I fly from an open boat all day. I was in southern Mexico on an open boat fishing 8 hours a day for 6 days. I kept reaching into my bag and just closing it. Has withstood rain and salt spray. It also worked great when flying. Please do not lock your bag during the flight. Pressure changes can be a problem. The zipper is very tight for the first few centimeters when you open it. I inserted the carabiner into the loop under the zipper which made the task a lot easier. Use zipper lube!. Will be using this again in the near future when fishing for tarpoons.
