Review on 🔌 FJC 6014 Vacuum Pump Adapter: A Reliable Yellow Tool for Effortless Pump Connections by Chris Crisler

I bought this adapter to adapt my Mastercool 84772 Manifold Kit, which uses an ACME female thread on the yellow hose, to my vacuum pump, which has a 1/4" male connection. One thing that What nobody has mentioned is that this FJC adapter doesn't have an insert, just a hollow thru-body fitting. Most of the new R134a header hoses, including the Mastercool set I bought, have a Schrader check valve on the yellow ACME female connector Um To allow vacuum or refrigerant to flow through the yellow hose the non-return valve must be activated.This non-return valve is intended to prevent refrigerant escaping to the environment after the yellow hose is disconnected.The FJC 6014 adapter I received did this Check valve wouldn't activate and wouldn't activate so I basically had no flow through the hose when I tried pressurizing my system with nitrogen to check for leaks or when trying to create a vacuum with my vacuum pump. I installed the check valve from my yellow hose but I couldn't get it out. I ended up putting a small hex nut into this FJC adapter so it pops out of the check valve stem on my yellow hose. Now everything works. I believe Mastercool sells a similar adapter with an insert to work with yellow Schrader hoses and hoses that don't have this check valve.
