I was expecting them to be temporary and I would have to replace them every week or so but wow they really hold up. I used Ikea corner guards which are shaped like hands but are a lot less obvious and protect a lot better because they are rounded and rubbery. The glue is ridiculously strong IMHO. I've put them on Ikea furniture (hold up very well) and on my Pottery Barn dining table, kitchen countertop or whatever. I run into the dinner table guard every day and it's still going strong. Give them a try if you're on the fence, you might be pleasantly surprised, just like me! The only negative thing I can think of is that with some furniture I have to choose whether I want to protect the little ones' heads from above or below in the corner. Mostly I protect the ground because I think my kids might get hurt there. As they get older I take it off and put it on top instead (it comes with extra adhesive strips). I wish they were different sizes so I can cover the entire corner of my furniture.
