Review on ๐Ÿถ Extreme Dog Fence Max Grade: Unbeatable Performance with Max Duty Heavy Gauge Wire and 60 Mil Thick Polyethylene Jacket by Pamela Ervin

Great System at Dogs

Just installed and using Max Grade 1000 Ft. System. The system itself is good, the cable is high-quality, everything is made in the USA. Taking off one star for the lack of instructions in the box (had to go to the website) and the crappy "surge protector". Read on for my full review. I purchased the Extreme Dog Fence Max Grade Ultimate which is just snazzy because it comes with 14 AWG 60 mil jacketed fence wire and 50 feet of 18 AWG stranded wire. All products shown in the photo have arrived without any problems or defects. What was missing from the packaging was full instructions for use of the product. Thank goodness for YouTube in some cases. If you go to the manufacturer's website, they have a good "manual" with tons of information. It would be great to have this in a box. Several sheets that were in the box had spelling issues, which I found funny. (That's how you know they're from the US, too lazy to look) The collar I received was "Active" which was perfect. When purchasing, make sure you get the system with the correct collar; There are three different types, of which "Active" works best for 88% of dogs. The 1000 feet of wire I received was on a spool and of excellent quality. The jacket (60 mil in my case) was immaculate and durable. Excellent quality wire. The panel is nice and small, the cover is easy to remove (no instructions but easy to figure out). Again, there are no instructions on how to wire it up, but if you look online or at their silly drawing you can figure it out. There is no ground wire, but you don't need one when using the surge protector that comes with the Ultimate system. Which brings me to the surge protector, which is one of the main reasons I took the gold star. Compared to the rest of the product, this is a joke. You could have spent pennies more to put much better cable connectors on this thing. The wires fall out when someone breathes on them, also by gravity, so be sure to use zip ties and other things to relieve ALL the pressure, or you'll find some of your wires fall out. I mean these things are worse than bad, they want out instead of staying in. The size of this entity is also too large for its own good. In any case it is. Collar. good collar with an electronic shocker chtoli. That's "good", not great, not bad. Requires a 6V non-rechargeable lithium-ion battery. They made sure to include documentation on how they make specials for it, so don't try to buy another brand, better buy them so they can raise the price. Again, it is what it is, just know it. They don't tell you which way to insert it into the collar (the collar isn't marked), but if you follow "normal" battery handling methods, the minus goes in first, and the plus on the side of the cap. The battery comes in a box, no pre-installation. There are no installation instructions, but at least it is easy to understand. It works or not. (Flat-head screwdriver, pull out the plug, insert the negative terminal of the battery first). Once you've plugged everything in, you'll find that you'll lose the other half of the gold star again due to the lack of instructions on how to program the collar. The advantage of this system is that you can program an unlimited number of collars with different settings for different pets. If the battery dies I'm not sure if that information will be saved as mine isn't dead yet so I can't judge. To program the collar you must hold the collar in your hands and be close to the control panel, press and hold both buttons for 4 seconds to enter collar programming mode, select your level (depending on the type of collar you have again mean active , the levels mean something else ) then click the "Install" collar next to the panel to install it. Be aware that your collar will most likely come at its highest shock level. strange. I would have thought it would only sound on the beep, but who knows. Finally installation time. I see other posts saying it takes half a day. I will say that it very much depends on how long you run, what terrain you ride on and how well you want to get the job done. It took me 3 days, 7 hours a day. I decided to dig 750 feet with a shovel (mostly through woods so I couldn't use a car). I punched a hole in my foundation to run the twisted wire down to the basement where I installed the panel and power supply. It would be much faster if I just threw the cable on the floor and ran out the kitchen window, I have OCD again and everything should be fine or not at all. You know what's best for you. It's been hard work and I'm glad it's over, but it's working really well. Can I recommend this to a friend? Yes, but I would like the manufacturers to correct their spelling mistakes in the few documents they give you and include a real manual instead of forcing people to look it up online. Include at least a document that says you can find "URL" here on the web to view the manual. Finally, spend a few extra pennies to give us a surge protector with real wire connectors. please.
