I've just adopted a new cat and she seems to enjoy sitting on the countertop. I had to put an end to this as soon as possible. I did a lot of research and decided to try this mat. He found out the first time he stepped on my counter. He tried other spots on the counter before stepping back onto the carpet and I haven't seen him on it since. So for me it was definitely worth the money! I only used the low mode and it worked great and the cat is fine. It just scared him, it didn't hurt him. I love the decor, the design on it is very cute.
