My boyfriend is a vegetarian and I've done my best to make all our meals vegetarian/vegan together. I've never been a huge fan of tofu, but this press made a difference. I had a lot of fun studying different presses. I knew I needed something self-contained that I could just leave in the fridge without having to keep an eye on it or constantly draining the water. However, I didn't want to spend $50 on something that used to press a $2 tofu stone, and some of the designs on it seemed a little over the top. This press met all my needs. Using the press the first time was a little fiddly, but after I felt it and figured out how to tighten the fasteners, it wasn't a problem at all. I was surprised at how much this press could change the density and texture of the tofu. I'm really looking forward to doing more!
