Much faster. A little awkward to use, but not critical. If you use it every day, it's easy. It's only occasional use and you forget what you have to do to turn it on and scan compared to the old days when you just pressed the scan button. Although it has "anti-aliasing" technology, if you have something that curls after folding, it's best to smooth the corners with a weight to get the perfect image. It "defines" the image very well, making it easy for you to line it up. I'm happy with it and it works on a MAC which many don't have.
