I had read previous reviews and knew I should buy a size up. I didn't expect the shorts to be even smaller. I have a very solid 5 year old and probably won't be wearing them next summer unless he grows up and starts to lose weight. The material seems to be holding up well. We used shorts for swim lessons so this is a chlorinated pool where we spend a lot of time. Soon we will be on vacation and he will also be exposed to the sun.
