I was looking for a hob cover that could be used to create extra worktop space. I have an old stove with round removable burners. When I remove these burner plates, a hole remains. I planned to cover these holes and the entire surface of the oven with a solid cover that would serve as an extra work surface. My issue with this coating is that it is a soft, flexible material that covers the surface of the oven but isn't strong enough to act as a countertop. In addition, the material of the lid is heat-resistant up to, for example, 200 degrees (check the actual temperature values), which means that this lid and everything has to be removed when the oven is in use. Bottom line, this cover doesn't meet my needs. I think it will serve as a great cover for more modern electric ranges. So the lower rating just reflects the fact that I couldn't use it and had to send it back.
