Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhanced Performance with AMD Athlon 240GE and Radeon Vega Graphics Processor by Russ Charmin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I ordered an Athlon 240GE and received an Athlon 220GE.

Annoyed that someone covered the label on the unopened box (which said 220GE) with another label that said 240GE. Week I ordered something from Revain and received something else. I'm starting to lose confidence that I'm getting what I order. That being said I really wanted an Athlon 220GE but it was $69 and the 240GE was $59.44 so I ordered the 240GE. I ended up buying the 220GE for ten bucks less, which is good. FYI: 220GE and 240GE are higher than 200GE and therefore overclocking is higher and easier with no stability issues. In many cases, the 220GE outperforms the 240GE in tests. It just annoys me that I ordered one and got another. I installed the Athlon 220GE on my MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon. It is currently clocked at 4000MHz and runs great at 26C. I have 32GB of G.Skill Flare X DDR4-3200 B-Die in four sticks currently clocked at 2933MHz. So much for the inability to overclock this APU! In terms of thermal performance, my APU cooler is a Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4. Even when the processor is overclocked to 4000MHz, my radiator fan is set at 610RPM and the APU temperature does not rise above 41C even under heavy load. That's right - 610RPM! I am happy with the product but unhappy with Revain at the moment. Hope they get together soon.
