Due to the high chloramine levels in LA city water, I always have some of this stuff for my pond. Not only is it great for removing ammonia compounds, but the "anti-stress layer” seems to help. Two benefits of this product: 1. My butterfly koi, dojo golden loaches and even my flock of minnows from the pet store are very healthy with no skin lesions or other diseases and they are quite active which indicates the water doesn't have it a high concentration of ammonia (ammonia interferes with gill function, leading to slow feeding and sluggish swimming, which I unfortunately discovered when starting my pond project)2. I have seen this product used at my local pond shop on their many outdoor ponds. This is a clear endorsement considering they are known locally as the Koi people.
