Review on Two Little Fishies ATL44022 Aquastik by Jessica Escobar

Useful, Smelly, Possibly Painful

AquaStik Epoxy is really good in some cases and not so good in others. First, it's great for attaching live rock to a reef or FOWLR tank. It's not great to attach a splinter dowel to live rock unless you have holes to fit it through. If you're trying to attach a piece of coral to a cork in a more difficult spot, you're going to get frustrated with this epoxy. It has a very weak hold and even if you apply larger fish (or eels in my case) they will eventually knock out the whole piece of coral. Another downside is the smell and the fact that you have to mix the putty by hand if you have sensitive skin, it burns your fingers and is very uncomfortable. If you don't do this, you will still notice a fever. It's very easy to mix up epoxy, in which case you'll render it useless. The stench is unbelievable (as to be expected) so the whole app can become unpleasant. I tend to think that aquascaping should be fun even if you spice it up with profanity because the rock is moving or your coral doesn't look right. You don't have to keep burdening it with burning fingers and a pungent odor. The benefit is that it mimics the look of purple/red coral algae, so it blends in when your live rock has adequate coverage. Second, due to its volatility, in an active reef aquarium, simply use it long enough for the coral to grow in/on the rocks. If you're looking for a better solution with more uses than putty, I would recommend CorAffix Cyanoacrylate Adhesive or CorAffix Cyanoacrylate Adhesive Gel - 0.7 oz. .
