I think I bought this for a 2003 Taurus, it was difficult to install but it was due to the Ford's design, you have to remove the inner fender trim to find where the wire goes through the firewall, you see securely tie the rope to the old cable when you pull it out, and then tie a string to the new part for ease of installation. When the new part was in it worked perfectly.
