I would give this kettle one star but love the color and style. It looks cute on my stove top and matches a vintage coffee pot which is also black with white markings. But, and this is a big but, it doesn't whistle, and that played a big part in my purchase decision. As advertised, it was perfect - colour, style and whistle. No matter how many times I used it, made sure the lid was securely closed and had enough water in it - IT NEVER WISHED! I didn't want to worry about getting it back. Maybe I ran into the same problem - that's how I like it - so I'm learning to live with it. So if you buy it.
