Purchased to help sand the inside of a wooden bowl. In order for this to work as described you need to increase the lathe speed to over 2500 rpm and I don't spin at those speeds for safety reasons (the bowl blank came loose during grinding) so just do it more. And yes, the workpiece was securely fixed in a 4-jaw chuck with a mandrel. In any case, the tool uses the drum speed to spin the disc, so it doesn't grind well at lower speeds (<= 1000 rpm).
