Spindle bearing seizes within a minute of use

The bearing that supports the rotating grinding spindle is of poor design. I used it on my lathe for about 1 minute after which the bearing stopped spinning freely. return of the mill. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Protection

Great tool for the money

New to turning and always hand sharpened. Thought I'd give it a try when I saw it. It saves me a lot of time compared to manual grinding. Work your way through the grits and get a glassy finish. After 2 uses I bought a second one for my son.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Do not buy sanding blocks

After only 30 days of using this item this item is defective. Bearings fell out. I cannot and will not advise anyone to buy. On the other hand. After my message, the money for the purchase was quickly refunded. Thanks to the company for the correct implementation.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Null

Works well with power tools and hand tools

First time use. He polished the shell very well, especially the inside. Take your time and get used to how it works. For me, this is easier than hand sanding, without burning fingers when sanding defects. Generally very happy with the results. Now back to making more bowls.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Bad bearings, cheaply made.

Looks good right away for the price. Included were grinding wheels of different grit. Worked fine initially, ended up sanding a small maple shell to get rid of the sanding lines. Then the inner bearing failed. All bearings have fallen out. They weren't even decently sealed bearings but an open design as shown in the video. Leaking bearings in a product exposed to dust. I wouldn't recommend it until they fix/upgrade the bearings.

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Doubtful

Interesting tool, best of the sanding blocks

Purchased to help sand the inside of a wooden bowl. In order for this to work as described you need to increase the lathe speed to over 2500 rpm and I don't spin at those speeds for safety reasons (the bowl blank came loose during grinding) so just do it more. And yes, the workpiece was securely fixed in a 4-jaw chuck with a mandrel. In any case, the tool uses the drum speed to spin the disc, so it doesn't grind well at lower speeds (<= 1000 rpm).

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Outdated

It does its job perfectly

I was hesitant to buy it due to some of the negative reviews I wrote anyway and I'm glad I ignored them. All negative reviews are related to stock. Roller ball bearings look like ordinary unsealed bearings with 12mm OD and 6mm ID and are made of carbon steel. It spins at very high speeds, so heat and small amounts of dirt can cause unlubricated bearings to fail. If you put a drop of oil on them every now and then (3 in 1 works) they will last a long time. Put some oil on it every time you use…

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Expensive
