I bought this set for my daughter's 9th birthday. As soon as we received the package she ripped it open and was ready to go. All ingredients are pre-portioned and ready to use with very simple instructions. The intention is to make 3 pieces of coconut and 3 pieces of rose-scented soap. However, it would be so easy to add your own essential oils and coloring to the base if rose, for example, isn't to your liking. Although my baby liked the rose scent AND the pink color so we mixed as instructed. The 9-year-old birthday girl did everything herself to open the supplies, with minimal supervision and a few interventions from her mother: fragrance oils and dyes came in tiny glass vials designed to look like perfume samples. She found it difficult to remove small plugs on her own, so she asked for help. Once all the ingredients were together, my mother also helped pour the soap into molds. After 12 hours the soap popped out of the mold and the child had already given 2 bars to others! All in all, this kit is very simple and creates a quality product that anyone can make at home. Anything you can think of to improve the kit?* We may offer different mold options. The flowers are a bit too tall, and while that's okay, I'd like something simpler *suggest additional scent options (like lavender)*suggest fillers!
