We have a two story house and we let our dogs go upstairs anytime. We have carpet upstairs and wooden floors downstairs and sometimes one of our dogs will come up at night when everyone is sleeping and having an accident (peeing or pooping). So we decided to buy a pet gate so they don't go upstairs at night. At least if they have an accident downstairs, they're easier to clean because of the wooden floor. The gate works very well and is very easy to install and operate. The only issue I have is that as we walk through the gate the strip (see picture) below requires special attention, I almost tripped a couple of times. And we have two elderly people in the house, that worries me. But other than that, the gate works great.
