To start off, I would like to point out that while these are probably the cheapest ANR headphones out there, they still cost a decent buck. At the same time, the first impression of this headset is quite pleasant. They were packed very well (almost too well). The carrying case also seems to be of fairly decent quality, including a front pocket for the included accessory cable and a nice felt material on the inside. The case is also quite roomy and has a carrying handle. It will definitely help keep the headset in my flight bag. As for the PNR aspect of the headset, I haven't had a chance to use it on an airplane (Cessna 172) although it seems to seal well. I tried different background noises and it significantly reduced most of the ambient noise. About as expected. I think there would be a lot of improvement if there was a different material like gel ear pads. The key feature, active noise cancellation, seems pretty decent. I have no expensive branded competitors to compare myself to; However, I have used noise cancellation with my Airpod Pros. The A28 performed about the same as I expected, but it leaves a lot to be desired. This reduced the background noise a bit, but also introduced some white noise. I don't think it will be that noticeable in the cockpit, but I'm a little intimidated by how much more ANR will block out engine noise. The mic boom feels solid and sturdy so hopefully it will hold up. t wears out quickly. I'm curious to see how it handles the noise cancellation and how the speakers sound. I only tested them with music and an extra cable and they turned out to be surprisingly decent, very boomy and the quality didn't change much when ANR was on. With the ANR on, the audio was slightly higher pitched, although this made listening much easier and overall more enjoyable. I have high hopes for flight performance. I think one of the most important improvements will be the use of gel ear pads. I think an upgrade in that regard can really help improve sealing and really help with noise cancellation and overall decibel reduction. If it helped, I would definitely see the rankings go up for them. All in all I'm happy and excited to test them on an airplane next week and I'll be doing some comparisons to David Clarke's base models to see if the ANR or A28 can handle their nearly $300 price tag . Will be updated soon.
