We're still debating if we like them, are we doing it right?

UPDATE September 8, 2021 I suggest buying something durable. I tried using them for a retail store and they worked great for about 6 months - hit or miss after that. We've had constant problems with these walkie-talkies. We've changed them twice and have the same issues each time - crackling, headset connection issues, poor hearing (with and without the headset), devices falling apart (the antenna is the first thing to happen), etc. Doesn't seem like it . They are intended for commercial use where they are used every day (5-12 hours a day). We decided to go ahead and bought a nicer quality radio. Since then I have not regretted it. For the most part, walkie-talkies work, but we've always faced not being able to hear each other from time to time. We bought them for 7,500 sqm. m (plasterboard walls) for communication between employees. At first we thought it was user error, but we verified correct usage and are making it right. So our next troubleshooting step was to buy all new headsets (retevis 2 pin acoustic tube headset). This headset turned out to be much more comfortable than the original headset. However, sometimes we still don't get along very well. There always seems to be a crackling sound, we keep saying "Please repeat" and now two of our headsets won't work with the radio unless the button is pressed firmly. Plug in a headset during a call. As this is our first experience with Retevis, is that ok? Walkie-talkies became a problem in an area that we hoped walkie-talkies would solve. Haven't been able to speak to them yet but I've heard that Retevis has great customer service so hopefully I'll be able to speak to them sooner rather than later as I'd love to speak to someone about our concerns or even hear from others who have them bought walkie-talkies.
