The dispenser plunger can be unlocked when new by removing the plunger assembly. Below the screw cap, just above the straw, is a spring chamber. Hold it and turn the plunger counter-clockwise until it pops out. Now for the rating. These little glass bottles look great compared to the cheap plastic dispensers you find in stores. The problem with cheap dispensers is that over time they start to leak just below the plunger, above the cap. This is because piston assemblies are cheaply manufactured. Time will tell if they start leaking but so far they are perfect. The only drawback I see so far is the narrow opening that requires the use of a funnel when filling. For thick soap you will need a large opening funnel, but not too big as it will not fit in the bottle.
