The example I received had an issue where the aperture was wide open about every third shot if you were shooting continuously. This gives you no confidence in the durability of the lens. So I had to send it back. I also locked the D750 and D7200. Everything is fine with the optics, but of course it has problems. Chromatic aberration was definitely an issue, but it can be addressed in editing. The lens also lacked contrast. Even with otherwise decent images, it was clear that this lens didn't resolve a lot of detail. The Yongnuo 50mm 1.8 showed great contrast and detail in comparison. If it weren't for the problem with the aperture, I would probably keep this lens. because optically, in ideal lighting conditions, it would be a somewhat unique portrait lens. This is definitely for stationary objects. As most reviews point out, the autofocus just isn't great. Aside from being slow at f1.4, it was constantly chasing, switching focus to the background rather than the subject. I also found the autofocus to be almost useless in low light. The best place for this lens seemed to be F2 to F4 in bright light. From 5 the bokeh was no longer even, the shape of the aperture was very noticeable. Color saturation was pretty good.
