It's getting pretty hot. Not exactly Thunderbolt 3.
This thing is very fast! It works well on Windows and macOS. With intensive work it gets quite hot. Some might say it's getting hot. I'm not sure how "compatible" it is with Thunderbolt 3. I cannot mount this drive as a TB3 device; USB only. Checking the connections on a Mac always shows USB and not TB3, unlike my other external drive which only supports TB3 (not USB compatible). Almost every port on the TB3 supports USB anyway, so you'll hardly notice it unless you look closely. Other than that, this article is great. It feels solid and like a piece of quality hardware.
- Compatible with MAC OS X 10.4+, Windows Vista+ (formatted for Mac - easy to reformat for Windows)
- I have no aversion to it, everything is fine
