For an office projector, a clear image that can display text and charts properly is a priority, along with enough brightness to handle things like medical images in a room with it Minimum of dim overhead lighting and an open window. The bottom line of this review is that this projector combines both at an impressive price. Having used so many Epson projectors, most of which were portable projectors in this range, I immediately noticed that they finally updated the design to look more modern. It still has the same basic shape and, ironically, uses the same remote control. The nice thing is that I sometimes switch remotes when one gets lost. The throw distance is great for getting a large image in a relatively small space. I don't understand why they give so much importance to automatic vertical keystone correction because it works just as badly as ever. As always, and especially with a lower resolution projector like this, it is best to avoid digital keystone distortion altogether as it reduces effective resolution. However, it's easy to set up if you need to use it for a trade show, for example, where you only have to work with space. Wow, this projector is bright! The 3LCD technology really is a huge improvement over previous models, delivering vivid colors even on a 100 inch screen in a moderately lit room. This is a business-class projector with a 4:3 aspect ratio, but don't pay attention to the smaller number of pixels. I tried both options and they worked fine. The focus is perfectly sharp, and that makes Epson reliable on all models. The colors in the charts stand out better than my older models and many things look better than my 1080p projectors. compared to almost a decade ago. Of course, the resolution affects the video and is not the best choice for it. However, for a random video in a presentation or promotional loop, it works fine. Epson projectors are notorious for their comically bad sound, and this one has the same tiny speaker that seems bad almost on purpose. I think it's not about spending money on something most people don't use and I agree with that decision. A cheap Bluetooth speaker works well when sound is needed and not available in the room. I didn't expect to like the EX5280 so much. As I move to 4K projectors, this new technology XGA design shows that resolution isn't everything.
