Simple and reliable coffee pot for morning coffee

I bought this coffee pot because I want to make a cheap and efficient model wanted a large cup of coffee to drink while working at home. I've always found Mr. Coffee to be a pretty good brand and this coffee pot does what you'd expect in a coffee maker at a reasonable price. It works, is easy to use, and makes great coffee without leaving a mess on the counter. The coffee maker is very easy to fill thanks to the flip-top design where you pour water. Filling line on the side so you can easily figure out how many cups you want. The plastic filter basket in which you insert your coffee filters opens and closes tightly. I've used the machine almost every day for three months and so far I haven't had any problems with the filter assembly. You can remove the assembly for easy cleaning. I washed it in the dishwasher with no problems. As for filters, I've found that using a basket is better than a cone. Cone types tend to create a bit of chaos, and you can get ground anywhere. I switched to Mr. Kaffee for this coffee maker and it works great for me. There is no debris anywhere, easy to pull out and clean when I remove the filter and I have run both the filter basket and permanent filter through my top shelf dishwasher and have had no problems. The coffee maker also has some basic settings that allow you to delay brewing coffee, and I found this worked as you would expect. It's pretty easy to program. The coffee machine switches itself off after about two hours. I only have a few minor issues with the coffee maker. The first small issue is that the manufacturer tends to make a few random noises here and there after the kettle has brewed, e.g. B. because he is still processing the coffee. They don't last very long and it's probably just vapor coming out or something, but it makes me wonder a little what it does. Another small issue I have is that there is no warning that the coffee pot will turn off after two hours. Since I like to brew the coffee maker early in the morning and drink coffee until about noon, I end up having to watch the coffee maker and turn it on every few hours or so. Perfectly serviceable budget coffee maker if you're just looking for something inexpensive to get your morning coffee on. It doesn't grind beans, process K-cups, or make you a cappucino or espresso, but it does make a hot pot of plain black coffee for about $20, and does so consistently. Sometimes the old school does its job just right. This coffee maker is a good example of that. I recommend.

Pros
  • Programmable clock/timer makes it easy to set the coffee maker 24 hours in advance to make hot coffee at a specific time
