Review on SE 10-Piece Precision Screwdriver Set - The Ultimate Tool for Precise Repairs - 7524TP by Tommie Lawson

Interesting mini kit

I bought this kit to disassemble some old broken laptop hard drive cases before recycling. The previous inexpensive set I bought, the 30-piece Delcast Precision Screwdriver Set (about $7), didn't have enough torx bits that were small enough for some projects. This mini set is very compact although I don't plan on using any part of the handle for storage as previous reviews have said this could cause problems. The pen/pen case is slightly thinner and longer than the marker. Judging by the reviews, the included bits are packaged a bit chaotically. I have Torx 8 instead of Torx 7, Star 2 instead of Star 1, and Phillips 00 instead of Phillips 1.5 (which according to some links on the web should equal 000, but millimeters are no longer a proper unit of measurement). conventional marking 000). I also have a wide flathead screwdriver, although some would call it a wrench. Strangely enough, it turned out that the screws on some hard drive cases were just poorly machined, so I ended up using a T6 bit, which was supposed to be the same size as a Delcast T6 bit, but somehow fits better. I think it's a bit smaller, although these parts feel weaker, don't feel as well made and may not last very long. Strange that they fit better on some flat head screws that are also poorly machined? The beauty of this mini set is that the all-metal handle matches the Delcast set (and a few others by the looks of it). The racquet hole is well formed and the magnet adds a little more security by holding the back of the racquet in place, although twisting and lateral movement are actually more important. For example, when the larger plastic Delcast pen is raised, the metal tabs hold the bits in place, and while it works, it doesn't feel as secure as a magnetic pen. (To be fair with Delcast, the part where the bits are inserted is a solid metal band.) Whether you like the grip of a larger plastic handle or a smaller metal handle, the bits are interchangeable and two sets will fit. make a good pair. All it takes is that either manufacturer includes Torx 3 and/or Phillips 000 and you have multiple screwdrivers for just about any electronics or mini project. Pretty good inexpensive set to add to your tool collection and for the occasional lighting project.
