Review on Convenient and Reliable Keyless Entry Remote Control for Dodge Chrysler Jeep - Pack of 2 by Dan Toliver

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The good thing about them is that at least one is doubled.

DO NOT BUY! This is an updated review. Read the original below: ***Review updated April 19, 2016*** Due to an issue with delays in my previous review, I returned two originals through Revain (bought using Prime so easy to return) and ordered another pair. The new ones were connected in the same way as the first two. That's the only good thing about them. After 2 days, one of them came off the back again. It just wouldn't stay. We would have lost it if it weren't for the fact that when you turn off the back, the battery doesn't make contact, so the remote doesn't work. When that didn't work, we looked around and found the back end. It looks like the two small tabs on each side where the back clip is located are just too flimsy and will break. I ended up having to glue the back, which will make changing the battery a real hassle in the future. Based on the fact that I've had two pairs of these and three of them with broken backs, I would recommend buying them from another company. I ended up gluing the backs of both keyrings as I doubt Revain will let me return them again. and even if i do Most likely I'll just get another set with faulty backs. I can't imagine I'm the only person with this problem. And to be clear. It's not like I took the battery out and put it back in wrong. When the first two were shipped, one had already had the back removed. He came back but only stayed a day, detached again and disappeared forever. Another came loose after a few days of use. The back of one of the two replacement pieces fell off within a day. The manufacturer really needs to fix this problem. The good thing is that at least one of them is properly connected to my car. We have 2009 voyage. Apparently for 2010 and newer, its just dealer programming. Luckily I have an '09 so I was able to program it myself with 2 working key fobs. In this respect, the instructions worked perfectly. However, there are two issues I've encountered: 1) Only one of the keyfobs is programmed correctly. One is 100% programmed and will lock/unlock and start the car. But the other starts the car only after programming. Does not lock/unlock doors. So this second one became our "emergency backup" because it contains the physical key. So I can get in with the key but start the car with the remote control. 2) Another issue is that after about 2 weeks of use, the back pieces came loose. They just don't fit right. The problem is, if the back is out of place, the battery will not make contact, so the key fob will die. One of the backrests has been lost in the last few days because it didn't fit properly. I've initiated a return with Revain for two loose backs and am hoping to program the replacement correctly. Good thing I'm selling Journey so I can have new FOBs for it and if they fall apart later someone else can take care of them. ;)
