My 15 year old is great at carrying. It is tight-fitting but can lie down. My kitty likes it a little more than a 15 year old. I have a halter for my kitten and I can snap it into the carrier and let it stick its head out. The carrier is comfortable to wear and the net has held up well so far although none of my cats have attacked it. The only difficulty was getting the cats into the van the first few times as it is top loaded. I keep my cat in my backpack in the car when traveling and have tried buckled the seat belt both in the carrier and through the shoulder straps. Adopted a kitten in a busy park in a pack and only two people noticed the cat in the pack. Hope that helps
