Wish I could get 6QT instead of 3QT

UPDATED - So I finally got 6QT and oh. my. grams. - so wonderful! Such a relief! I can cook 5 pounds of frozen chicken in ONE cycle and have food for my dog next week! Hooray! And last night I finally cooked the famous "Spaghetti Football Mom" (poured a box of pasta, a jar of sauce, a bag of frozen meatballs plus a jar of water into the pot, then pushed the button) and - great. I've made the same thing in 3qt about a couple of times and it never came out right - first time the pasta wasn't cooking, next time the sauce was too watery etc. In 6qt - cooked super! And I have FIVE servings of leftovers instead of the 1-2 I had with the lower IP. To compare 3qt to 6qt, a 3qt pot doesn't really boil 3 liters because you can't fill it to the brim. There is a line that is an inch or two below the rim, this is the maximum fill line as the pressure cooker needs extra room to do its job. If you then add a stand, you lose another inch of space. So your cooking space is really more like 2 liters, like a small saucepan. Imagine cooking ALL your meals with just one pot. use to cook pasta. Or cook soup. Pasta pot versus cooking pot. Do you understand what I'm saying? Anyway, now my problem is that I have to stop cooking so many times due to running out of freezer space. :)************ About 3 QT DUO --- As for Instant Pots, I won't repeat what everyone else is saying, but I agree this is a game changer and your cooking complete will revolutionize . However, I regret something. 3QT is too small for lazy cooks like me---When I moved into my Airstream trailer full-time, I decided on an Instant Pot as I thought it would help minimize the number of kitchen appliances needed. . And being alone (plus dog and cat) I naturally decided that 3Qt would be the best choice. After 7 months with him I'm dying to trade my 3Qt for a 6QT. I love to cook but am lazy and would rather cook a large batch once and leave leftovers than cook for every meal. Reheating leftovers is a lot easier than preparing fresh food. I'm also lazy when cleaning. Instant Pot Learning Curve --- Creating an Instant Pot takes a bit of getting used to and while there are tons of amazing tips and such on the internet, about 95% of them are for 6QT. or more. Finding good, suitable recipes for 3QT is frustrating and leads to many failed dishes due to the mismatch of ingredients, liquids, cooking times, etc. Where are all the accessories for 3QT? --- In the same way as above, there are many accessories for the Instant Pot, but. They are all for 6QT, not so many for 3QT. I'm starting to see more 3QT sized accessories (like steamer baskets, pods, lids, silicone egg molds, etc.) but only from one manufacturer. As opposed to a 6 liter meal where you have a dozen steamer baskets to choose from. Homemade Dog Food --- Because I travel a lot from city to city, I eventually started making meals for my dogs (an 80 lb Labrador) as we could never find a brand of dog food that she liked and was suitable for. The Instant Pot was my salvation in this situation as it's very easy to just add a bunch of raw, frozen chicken or other meat to the pot, slam the lid shut, press the button and within an hour I've got tons of boneless bones Bone meat for my doggie's next breakfast (because I inevitably forget to cook for her the night before and have to do it right during her meal). But the usual cases of cooking a batch of their food, again because I have 3QT I could only cook part of the meat, take it out, quickly clean the pan before cooking another batch - whereas with 6QT this can be done in just one cycle. In short, if you're thinking of getting 3 Qt for your first and only Instant Pot, don't! Just choose 6Qt and make your life much easier.
