This camera has an excellent lens that can capture many different areas of objects. Image quality is pretty good and the tripod mount is handy, but there are serious quality issues with my device. Initially, I noticed some visual artifacts when the lens was in focus, so I unscrewed the lens to take a closer look. There were some debris stuck under the glass covering the IMX317 sensor. I had to disassemble the entire camera to clean this glass. It required rubbing alcohol and some cloths because whatever the contaminants were, they were smeared all over the place. This issue was fixed, but within a week I noticed the USB2 cable was getting finicky. I had to bend it in a certain direction to connect the camera. I think the cable is defective as I have reproduced the issue on multiple PCs. I have since taken the camera apart again to replace the cable with the one I made to replace it. Now the camera works, but I had to spend at least a few hours fixing major manufacturing flaws.
