I bought 3 sets of white DooVee solar strings. The light barrier and the control (two buttons) are connected to the lighting set. The first button turns on the TV, the second toggles 8 modes (flash, fade, flash like a rave, flash like a cod, etc.). Installed all 3 sets in one day and set them to "on - don't blink" mode. Two of the three sets randomly switch to demo mode, where all 8 modes switch every 10 to 15 seconds. Whenever I reset the controller back to "on - no blinking" it reverts to demo mode after a few days. 2 out of 3 means that 66% of the kits you buy will not work and you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting a kit that will work properly.
